Posted on September 26, 2010 | 1 CommentAn evocative speech example piece that Project Economic Refugee's founder wrote for and was originally published on Cuéntame’s blog. It was a prominent rally cry to the Latino community to exercise its power to match and defeat the Tea Party vote in the national November 2010 midterm elections. It was also a pep talk urging everyong to not be afraid of getting excited about the DREAM Act. The issue is presented as core to U.S. values, by evoking one of the cornerstones of our political folklore: Ted Kennedy. Finally, it also makes the point that the DREAM Act is a continuation of the May Day marches, to drive the point home that every little bit that has been done on immigration reform HAS counted and will CONTINUE to count towards the ultimate goal of comprehensive immigration reform. -
